Contempt

When a court in issues an order or judgment, both parties are legally bound to abide by its terms. Unfortunately, not everyone follows the Court’s orders. If either party violates the terms of the order, then it is common for the aggrieved party to file a Contempt. Typical contempt actions in divorce cases involve situations such as one party’s failure to pay alimony and/or child support, one party denying the other party parenting time, or failure to pay an expense such as tuition or a medical bill.

Socci & Nieves Family Law Group, LLP can help you in any situation that you may be facing concerning your Massachusetts or New Hampshire family law matter. If you feel your ex-spouse is not complying with a court order, please contact us to discuss if it may be necessary to file a Contempt.

Limited Assistance Representation & Unbundled Services

Limited Assistance Representation (LAR) in Massachusetts and Unbundled Services in New Hampshire allows an attorney to advocate for a client for a part of the client’s case. It is an alternative if you are not in a position to retain a lawyer for traditional, full representation and you are comfortable handling some aspects of your case yourself. The attorney and client enter into an agreement that clearly defines the tasks that the attorney will perform for the client. This can include anything from helping to draft certain documents, reviewing certain documents, and/or making an appearance at a hearing or mediation.  This service is intended to assist those who may not want to, or who cannot afford to, incur the cost of representation for an entire case.

Coaching Services

Our office provides coaching services to those who intend on representing themselves in Court or in Mediation. In this scenario, we will not enter our appearance with the Court on your case and you will represent yourself at any Court hearing or mediation. Our role would be of advisor and we would provide assistance in preparation for your hearing or mediation. We will equip you with the knowledge you need for your particular case and assist in drafting or reviewing any documents so that you fully understand the process.
